The DuPage County Poll Tracker is committed to ensuring that its mobile app and websites are accessible to all voters, including people with disabilities. We want every voter in DuPage County to be able to find their polling place, check wait times, review their ballot, and follow election results — regardless of ability.
Conformance target
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, consistent with the U.S. Department of Justice's rule under Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act for state and local government web content and mobile apps.
Measures we take
- Screen-reader support (VoiceOver and TalkBack) throughout the app, including labeled buttons, form controls, map pins, and data tables for candidates and results.
- Color contrast that meets WCAG AA ratios, and no information conveyed by color alone — statuses, wait times, and results always include text equivalents.
- Support for large text sizes / dynamic type and reduced-motion preferences.
- Touch targets sized for motor accessibility.
- A list-based alternative to the map view for polling locations.
- Keyboard operability and visible focus indicators on our websites.
- Accessibility review as part of every release.
Known limitations
- The interactive map relies on the device's native map component; a fully equivalent list view of polling places is provided in the Polls tab, and drop-box locations include text details in each map callout.
- Some third-party content we link to (for example, state election websites or documents) may not meet the same standards. We choose linked resources from official sources and will help you obtain the information in another form on request.
Feedback and contact
If you encounter an accessibility barrier in the DuPage County Poll Tracker app or on this website, please let us know — we take every report seriously and aim to respond quickly:
- Use the "Contact Us (Developer)" form in the app (Profile → Privacy Policy → Contact Us).
- Contact the DuPage County Clerk's Office at (630) 407-5600 or elections@dupagecounty.gov.
When reporting, it helps to include the screen or page you were on, the assistive technology you were using, and what you expected to happen.
